How it works
- 1Rate each statement from "Strongly disagree" to "Strongly agree." Go with your gut: there are no wrong answers.
- 2Your browser scores every answer against 25 archetypes, so you see where you lean and how strongly.
- 3Read what each result means, share your profile, or send the link to a partner to see how you match.
The 25 kink archetypes
Each archetype has its own page: what it means, signs you might be one, safe ways to explore it and who it pairs well with. Read them before or after the test.
- Edger
You live for the build-up: getting close, backing off and riding the edge for as long as you can.
- Gooner
You love long, immersive sessions where arousal turns into a trance you can sink into for hours.
- Orgasm denial
Not being allowed to finish, by your own rules or a partner's, is the hottest part for you.
- JOI lover
You love being guided: a voice telling you how to touch yourself, how fast, and when you may finish.
- Hypno lover
Trance, soft voices and repeated words pull you under: you love letting your mind be gently guided.
- Dominant
You like to lead: setting the pace, giving instructions and taking charge of your partner's pleasure.
- Submissive
You find freedom in handing over control: following instructions, pleasing a partner and letting go.
- Switch
Lead or follow? Both. You enjoy dominance and submission depending on the mood, the moment or the partner.
- Brat
You love pushing buttons: teasing, disobeying and provoking a partner until they put you in your place.
- Brat tamer
A cheeky, defiant partner makes you want to rise to the challenge, and win, with a firm hand and a grin.
- Sadist
Giving consensual pain, from spanking to biting, and watching your partner react is a real thrill for you.
- Masochist
For you, consensual pain can turn into intense pleasure, and marks the next day are a sweet reminder.
- Voyeur
Watching turns you on: other people's intimate moments, shared by choice, are your favorite view.
- Exhibitionist
Being seen excites you: performing for a partner, a camera or a willing audience makes you feel alive.
- Rigger
Rope is your art: you love tying a partner, crafting patterns and watching them surrender to the knots.
- Rope bunny
Being tied up feels like a hug you can't escape: you love the restraint, the patterns and the surrender.
- Primal (hunter)
You love raw, instinctive play: growling, wrestling, chasing your partner down and claiming your catch.
- Primal (prey)
Being chased, caught and pinned down excites you: you love to run, struggle and finally be claimed.
- Owner
You love caring for a partner who's yours: a collar, clear rules, praise and firm, affectionate control.
- Pet
Wearing a collar, being praised and belonging to someone who cares for you makes you melt.
- Degrader
Consensual humiliation is your language: dirty talk, names and a willing partner left deliciously humbled.
- Degradee
Being called names, humbled or "used" in a consensual scene turns you on, deeply and unapologetically.
- Experimentalist
Curious about everything: new toys, new kinks, new ideas. For you, the best part is trying it once.
- Sensualist
For you, slow touch, connection and atmosphere matter more than intensity: pleasure is meant to be savored.
- Vanilla
You like what you like: familiar, straightforward sex without power games or pain, and that's perfectly fine.
Kink test FAQ
How does the kink test work?
You rate 63 statements on a five-point scale. Each statement feeds one or more of 25 archetypes, some positively and some negatively. Your browser adds it all up and shows a percentage for each archetype: 50% is neutral, higher means it fits you, lower means it really doesn't.
Is this like the BDSM test (bdsmtest.org)?
Same idea, different focus. Like the well-known BDSM test, it asks you to rate statements and gives you a profile with percentages. This one is shorter, takes about five minutes, and adds archetypes most quizzes skip, like edger, gooner, orgasm denial, JOI and hypno, alongside classics such as dominant, submissive, switch, brat and rigger. It's independent and not affiliated with bdsmtest.org.
Is my data private?
Yes. There's no account and no sign-up. Your answers are scored in your browser and never leave your device; an unfinished test is saved only on this device so you can pick it up later. If you share your result, the link contains your final percentages, never your answers.
What do the percentages mean?
Each percentage shows how strongly your answers point toward that archetype. 50% is neutral: your answers didn't lean either way. From about 65%, it's a real part of your profile; near 100%, it's a big one. Below 50%, it's probably not your thing. The percentages aren't slices of one pie, so several can be high at once.
Can I take it with my partner?
Yes, and it's one of the best ways to use it. Take the test, then send your partner the comparison link from your result page. Once they finish, you'll both see what you share and where you complement each other, like a dominant meeting a submissive. Treat it as a conversation starter, not a contract.
Can my result change?
Absolutely. Desires shift with time, partners, mood and experience, and many people see their result move after they try something new or realize what they don't like. Retake the test whenever you want.
